Il Podestà

The Il Podestà apartment occupies the top floor of the Palazzo Podestarile, in the rooms once inhabited by the officials and staff who served the castle's Podestà. The living room keeps a working stone fireplace, flanked by blue velvet armchairs, and a fully equipped kitchenette for everyday living. Along the entrance corridor, a brick niche holds a sculpted bust, one of several details that recall the palace's history. The windows look out over the Valdarno valley, with a view that stretches across the hills to the horizon — among the widest of the castle's four homes, thanks to the apartment's elevated position. The bedroom is furnished in period style, the bathroom has a shower, and the living room can sleep one more guest on the sofa bed.
